Corporate Social Responsibility at Allies Computing

Because we care about our environment and our impact on it, we have implemented an extensive CSR Policy. Although we have been doing our bit to help our environment for a very long time now, quite simply, we want to do more.

We know this will mean lot's of effort on our part, but we've never been afraid of hard work here at Allies. That's why we decided to think not only about our immediate impact on our local surroundings and environment, but also our long term impact on our wider environment. We've set ourselves quite a few targets which we will be working towards over the coming months and years. We have also made quite a lot of progress towards achieving them already!

Here is a brief taster of what we have done so far:

• Registered with Cycle Scheme UK to offer cycles to staff at reduced rates to encourage even more staff members to cycle (currently 30% of our staff regularly cycle to work)
• Installed recycling bins in all of our offices, staff rooms and kitchens
• Sourced our power from a sustainable electricity provider
• All new literature and brochures are all, or a high percentage recycled and part sourced from sustainable resources, with non chemical dyes. This includes even Business Cards and invoices
• Integrated our beliefs into staff policies i.e. our staff use public transport where possible when travelling on company business and training

And a few of the things we are planning to do in the future:

• Work towards becoming a carbon neutral company
• Measure and make plans to increase recycling and decrease waste
• Reduce receipt of business magazines and register for email newsletters instead
• Become a paperless organisation

Environmental policy at Allies Computing Ltd

We aim to continually improve the processes and procedures of our Quality and Environmental Management Systems to:

• exceed the level required for the British Standards
• comply with legislation, and
• support our environment for the future

Our environmental policy far exceeds the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001:2004 for which we are currently applying for certification. Our care for our environment is deeply integrated into our CSR policy and internal quality systems.
